About us
Our Story: From Dream to Living Reality
In June 2019, we left Switzerland and followed our hearts to Ronchamp, France. Here, on four hectares of land with an old farmhouse and a garage, we began a new chapter: a life closer to nature, simpler, and more honest.
But the journey started before that. For two years, we lived between two worlds – commuting back and forth between Switzerland and France. During that time, we began transforming this piece of land following the principles of permaculture. It’s a project with no end in sight – and that’s exactly how we like it.
As the land grew, so did the interest. More and more friends and guests wanted to see what we were building. That’s when we decided to turn the garage into holiday accommodations – small, thoughtful spaces created with care, intention, and our own hands.
I'm Stefan, born in 1970. I trained as a carpenter and animal caretaker – the perfect foundation for building and restoring our guest spaces myself. Every material, every step of the process was chosen freely, with human and environmental health always in mind. That’s why nearly 100% of the materials we used are ecological and natural.
Years working in the fast-paced construction industry in Switzerland made me question many things – especially the toxic materials I was forced to work with. That’s how I became an ecological all-rounder. Whether it’s construction, gardening, or caring for animals – I find purpose in doing things differently. Caroline calls me the diligent doer. I take that as a compliment.
And I’m Caroline, born in 1968. Originally trained as a hairdresser, I became a natural hair stylist almost 20 years ago. I’m passionate about everything that nurtures the well-being of people, animals, and the Earth – physically, mentally, and spiritually. I believe there’s so much more between heaven and earth than we can see. I love soulful conversations, creative projects, and empowering people – especially in these wild times.
We’re different in many ways – and that’s part of our strength. I’m vegan, Stefan eats meat from animals we raise ourselves. We learn from each other daily, respect each other’s views, and let go of judgment. That balance is a big part of what shapes our life here.
Since spring 2021, our guest accommodations have been ready. That means more time again – for the garden, for fishing, for time with friends and with those who visit us.
Welcome to a place built with heart and intention.
We look forward to meeting you.

How we started
Our shared intention was simple but powerful: to live more closely with and from nature – and to share that way of life with others.
So we set out from Switzerland in search of the right place. For a full year, we explored villages, landscapes, and properties across France, until we finally found what we were looking for in Ronchamp in 2017: 4 hectares of land with an old farmhouse, a former garage – and endless potential.
The garage had previously been used as a dog kennel, and the smell alone made it clear that this would be no small project. But we didn’t just see what was – we saw what could be.
With a lot of heart, vision, and the work of our four hands – plus the generous help of dear friends – we began to transform the place. After more than a year of renovations, piece by piece and step by step, we were able to open our holiday rentals in the spring of 2021 and welcome our first guests.
Today, this is not just our home, but a growing and evolving project – shaped by nature, by the people who visit, and by us.

Our team
Our team at Coeurvert is a little different – and very special.
It includes our landscape gardeners: the sheep, our patient donkey, and the curious chickens who keep the soil moving and the plants company. And of course, we can't forget our two loyal guardians, Dolce and Fuchur, who keep a loving eye on everything and everyone.
Together, they help shape the soul of this place – each in their own way.
